Under Republic Act No. 10575 (The Bureau of Corrections Act of 2013), BuCor is modernized and professionalized to manage national penitentiaries including New Bilibid Prison, Correctional Institution for Women, Sablayan Prison and Penal Farm, Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm, San Ramon Prison and Penal Farm, Leyte Regional Prison, and Davao Prison and Penal Farm. Recruits enter at entry rank (Salary Grade 10).

2. Qualifications

Applicants for Corrections Officer 1 (CO1) / Correction Technical Officer 1 (CTO1) must satisfy statutory requirements under RA 10575 and RA 11549:

• Citizenship: Must be a natural-born citizen of the Philippines.
• Moral Character: Must possess good moral character and have no criminal conviction or pending court case involving moral turpitude.
• Education: Must possess a Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university (preferably Criminology, Psychology, Social Work, Nursing, Agriculture, Education, or Law Enforcement).
• Age: Must be at least twenty-one (21) years old and not more than thirty (30) years old at the time of appointment.
• Height: Minimum height requirement is 1.57 meters (5'2") for males and 1.52 meters (5'0") for females, pursuant to Republic Act No. 11549. Height waivers are available for members of Indigenous Cultural Communities / Indigenous Peoples (ICC/IP) certified by the NCIP.
• Weight: Body Mass Index (BMI) must correspond to standard normal range (18.5 to 24.9 kg/m²).

Applicants must possess at least one (1) of the following qualifying eligibilities:

• Civil Service Commission (CSC) Professional Eligibility
• Penology Officer Examination (POE) Eligibility
• PRC Board Examination License (RA 1080) (e.g., Registered Criminologist, Registered Nurse, Social Worker, Teacher)
• Honor Graduate Eligibility (PD 907)

6. Examination Information
