Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET)

Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) Board Exam

This guide is intended to help examinees prepare for the examination. Always refer to the latest official announcements of the issuing agency since examination schedules and requirements may change.
Quick Exam-Day Reminder

Extremely early reporting time: No later than 5:30 AM. Strictly wear a tucked-in plain white collared shirt (no logos). Shading requires No. 2 pencils only. Bring long transparent and brown envelopes.

About the Examination

The Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LET) is conducted by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) twice a year. It evaluates candidates in General Education (GenEd) and Professional Education (ProfEd) for Elementary teachers, and adds Major Field Specialization for Secondary teachers. Passing rating is 75% average, with no score below 50% in any component.

Things to Prepare

Print your Room Assignment document from the PRC portal 2 to 3 days before the exam.
Prepare two envelopes: one long transparent plastic envelope and one long brown envelope.
Check your Notice of Admission (NOA) for correctness.
Sharpen at least three No. 2 pencils and pack a soft white eraser.

What to Bring

Printed Notice of Admission (NOA) with your passport-size photo.
Official Receipt (OR) of your application fee.
Original valid government-issued ID card.
Two or more No. 2 pencils, a sharpener, and a high-quality soft white eraser.
Black ballpoint pen (used for written fields and ID sheets only).
One long transparent plastic envelope and one long brown envelope.
Food and water in clear label-free containers.

What NOT to Bring

Bags of any kind (backpacks, ladies handbags, etc. are prohibited in the room and must be left in the baggage area).
Mobile phones, tablets, smartwatches, recording devices, or wireless earpieces.
Review notes, study booklets, or index cards.
Calculators (unless you are a Secondary Mathematics or Physics Major, using a PRC-approved model).

Reporting Time, Room & Attire

Reporting Time

Examinees must report to their assigned examination rooms no later than 5:30 AM. Late examinees will not be admitted under any circumstances.

Room Assignment Reminder

Verify room and building assignments on the PRC website 3 days before the test date. Ensure you check the exact campus building name.

Dress Code

Male: Plain white polo shirt with collar (tucked in), slacks or decent slacks. No logo, seal, or emblem. Female: Plain white blouse or shirt with collar (tucked in), slacks or decent slacks. No logo, seal, or emblem. Closed shoes are mandatory. Long hair must be neatly tied or clipped.

Answer Sheet Practice

Practice shading your answer sheet beforehand to avoid wasting valuable minutes during the real examination. Use our sample answer sheets to build muscle memory and increase your test speed.

Use No. 2 pencil only for shading answer sheets. Do not use ballpens for shading bubbles.
Use a black ballpen to write details on your Identification Sheet and sign documents.
Shade circles completely and neatly. Erase cleanly and completely if you change an answer. Residual marks lead to scanner rejection.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

Arriving late: Arriving after 5:30 AM will lock you out of the exam room.
Shading with pen: Using ink on the bubble grid causes the scanner machine to fail.
Wrong attire: Wearing round-neck shirts or tops with print/emblems.
Incomplete erasure: Leaving smudge marks when changing answers.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens if I lose my Official Receipt?
