About the Examination
The BFP Qualifying Examination (BFP QE) is a screening test administered directly by the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) as part of the recruitment process for Fire Officer 1 (FO1) candidates. Passing this exam is an internal requirement to advance to physical agility and neuro-psych stages.
Things to Prepare
Monitor the official BFP Regional Facebook Page or BFP website for advisories.
Conduct an ocular inspection of your assigned school or military base venue.
Prepare a folder-sized illustration board (essential to serve as a lap board).
Verify you have a plain white round-neck T-shirt, blue denim jeans, and white rubber shoes.
What to Bring
Notice of Admission / Application Receipt.
At least two (2) valid government IDs.
Recent passport-size photo (1 piece, with nametag).
Several black ballpoint pens (0.7mm tip is recommended).
Folder-sized Illustration Board.
Transparent bag or transparent folder.
What NOT to Bring
Pencils (unless advised otherwise by the regional BFP proctors).
Mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators, or other electronic devices.
Notes or study materials.

Arrive at the testing venue at least one hour before the test, typically by 6:30 AM or as specified in the recruitment notice. Late examinees are disqualified.
Room Assignment Reminder
Lists of qualified applicants and room assignments are posted on the BFP Portal and regional Facebook pages 3 to 5 days before the exam.
Dress Code
BFP Candidate Attire: Plain white round-neck T-shirt (tucked in), plain blue/dark maong (denim) jeans. No ripped or distressed jeans. White rubber shoes or athletic shoes. Slippers, sandals, cargo pants, and colored shirts are prohibited.
Answer Sheet Practice
Practice shading your answer sheet beforehand to avoid wasting valuable minutes during the real examination. Use our sample answer sheets to build muscle memory and increase your test speed.
Use a black ballpen to shade answer circles. Ensure marks are dark and complete.
Be mindful of ink drying times to prevent smudging.
