Verbal Ability & Grammar Tips

Enhance reading comprehension, paragraph organization, vocabulary, word analogy, and sentence structure checks.

Verbal Ability & Grammar Tips

The verbal section tests vocabulary, grammar, reading comprehension, and paragraph organization.

Paragraph Organization (Sentence Ordering)

Look for transition words to establish sequence:

  • Starting sentence: Typically introduces the topic and lacks words like "However," "Therefore," or "On the other hand."
  • Concluding sentence: Often starts with "Thus," "Finally," or "Consequently."

Subject-Verb Agreement

Identify the true subject:

  • Ignore phrases between commas (e.g. "The manager, along with his clerks, is attending"). The subject is "manager" (singular), not "clerks."
