Welcome to the ToolBayan Holiday Calendar & Working Hours Tracker guide. This tool provides an interactive view of official Philippine national and local holidays, allows duty hours logging, and computes remaining working days for deadline planning.
1. Tool Purpose
The Holiday Calendar serves administrative officers, civil servants, private employees, HR practitioners, and students who need to:
- View official Philippine regular and special holidays by year.
- Filter applicable local declarations by Region, Province, or City/Municipality.
- Track daily duty hours (time-in, time-out, lunch breaks) and calculate overtime or undertime.
- Check remaining working days in the current month and calendar year.
- Export holiday schedules into standard CSV spreadsheets for offline office planning.
2. Key Features
- Multi-Year Support: Switch between available calendar years (past, current, and upcoming years) dynamically.
- Location-Aware Filtering: Select your specific Region, Province, or City to see local holidays (e.g. charter days, foundation days) alongside national holidays.
- Optional Geolocation: Use browser location detection to automatically detect your approximate Philippine region and locality.
- Source & Proclamation Transparency: Inspect official reference numbers (such as Presidential Proclamation or Republic Act citations) stored with holiday entries.
- Daily Duty Hours Logger: Log daily work times, calculate total hours, overtime, and undertime locally on your device.
- Remaining Work Days Counter: Automatically calculates working days remaining in the month and year, excluding weekends and official holidays.
- CSV Export: One-click download of the active holiday schedule for spreadsheets.
3. How to Use the Holiday Calendar
Step 1: Select Calendar Year
Use the Select Year dropdown in the filter card on the left. The holiday database will immediately update to show holidays for the chosen year without reloading the entire page.
Step 2: Apply Location Filters (Optional)
By default, the calendar displays National Holidays that apply to all 17 Philippine regions.
- To view local holidays applicable to your area, select your Region from the dropdown.
- You can further narrow down your locality by choosing a Province and City / Municipality.
- Alternatively, click Detect Location to use your device's browser GPS to locate your nearest administrative region.
- To return to the nationwide view, click Clear Location.
Step 3: Filter by Holiday Category
Use the Holiday Category dropdown to view:
- All Holidays: Displays all scheduled observances.
- Regular Holidays: Displays only nationwide regular holidays (100% pay rule).
- Special Non-Working: Displays special non-working days (30% premium rule).
- Special Working: Displays commemorative working observances.
- Additional Special Non-Working: Displays supplementary non-working days.
Step 4: Inspect Source Information & Details
Click on any holiday card in the listing to view its full details, including its statutory classification, regional or city scope, official proclamation citation, and verification status.
Step 5: Export Holiday List
Click Export Holidays (CSV) to generate a downloadable spreadsheet containing the currently filtered holiday schedule.
4. Using the Working Hours Tracker
Click on the Working Hours Tracker tab at the top of the tool:
- Log Daily Hours:
- Select the work Date.
- Input your Time In and Time Out (using 24-hour or 12-hour format).
- Enter your Lunch Break duration in minutes (standard office default is 60 minutes).
- Click Log Work Hours.
- Review Metrics:
- The dashboard calculates Total Logged Hours, Average Hours per Day, Total Overtime (hours exceeding 8.00 hrs/day), and Total Undertime.
- Data Privacy:
- All work hour logs are stored locally in your browser's private storage (
localStorage). No employee timesheet data is uploaded to ToolBayan servers.

5. Checking Remaining Working Days
Click the Remaining Working Days tab to view:
- Working Days Remaining This Month: The net number of weekdays remaining from tomorrow through the last day of the current month, excluding official holidays.
- Working Days Remaining This Year: The net number of weekdays remaining through December 31, excluding weekends and official holidays.
6. Frequently Asked Questions
Are local city holidays included?
Yes. When you select a specific City or Municipality (or Region), the calendar displays locally declared holidays alongside the national baseline.
What happens if I do not select a location?
If no location is selected, the calendar displays nationwide Philippine holidays.
Can I plan for upcoming or previous years?
Yes. The year selector dynamically lists all calendar years recorded in ToolBayan's local database.
Where does ToolBayan get its holiday records?
Records are curated from official presidential proclamations, Republic Acts, and statutory announcements published by the Official Gazette (officialgazette.gov.ph).
