Privacy & File Security
Understand how ToolBayan protects your files, handles client-side actions, and guarantees secure, private operations.
Privacy & File Security Guide
At ToolBayan, we believe that your privacy and data security are paramount. We understand that government workers, administrative staff, teachers, and private individuals frequently handle sensitive personal details, confidential memos, official credentials, and private images.
Here is a detailed explanation of how ToolBayan protects your files, handles security client-side, and guarantees secure, private operations.
Client-Side Processing: How It Works
Traditional online converters and PDF tools require you to upload your files to their remote cloud servers. This exposes your documents to third-party access, data leaks, and server vulnerabilities.
ToolBayan does things differently. We utilize modern browser technologies, including WebAssembly and Client-Side Javascript APIs, to process your files directly on your device.
What stays local to your computer?
- PDF Editing and Filling: When you load a document in our PDF Editor, it is loaded directly into your browser's local memory. The text annotations, checks, and signatures are merged locally on your system.
- Image Editing and Background Removal: Photo adjustments in the ID Picture Maker, Background Remover, and E-Signature Background Remover are parsed entirely on your device. Your face photos and signatures never touch our servers.
- Image Formats Conversion: Batch image operations on the Image Converter happen inside your browser engine, maintaining high speed and complete file privacy.
Zero-Data Retention Policy
Since we do not upload your documents to our servers, we have a strict Zero-Data Retention Policy:
- No File Caching: We do not store, inspect, read, or cache any of the files you edit or generate.
- No Accounts Required: Because we don't save your files, we do not require account creation. This removes the risk of password database breaches or account hacking.
- Instant Clean Up: Once you close your browser tab, refresh the page, or navigate away, the browser memory containing your session is immediately cleared.
Technical Security Features
- HTTPS Encryption: All traffic between your device and ToolBayan is encrypted using Secure Sockets Layer/Transport Layer Security (SSL/TLS). This prevents network eavesdroppers from seeing what tools you are using.
- No Third-Party Analytics on File Data: We do not share your file names, content, or metadata with third-party analytical companies or advertising networks.
Best Practices for Safe Browsing
- Work on Secure Networks: Avoid using public, unsecured Wi-Fi networks when editing confidential documents.
- Download Progress Immediately: Since ToolBayan doesn't save copies, make sure to download your completed work before closing the tab.
- Log Out of Public Computers: If you are using a shared computer at a government office, internet cafe, or school library, close the browser window when you are finished to clear the local memory cache.
Official Government Verification Reminder
ToolBayan is a private, independent utility site and is not an official platform of the Philippine government. Always verify document requirements and submission channels through verified, official government agency portals.
